Does anyone know of any plans to build a Tejano Music Hall of Fame and Museum? My wife and I visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee last year, and we believe that Tejano Music is just as deserving of such a beautiful place to honor the legends (both living and deceased) of the rich Tejano music genre.
Since San Antonio claims to be the “Tejano Music Capital of the World,” I challenge the artists and other members of the TTMA to form a partnership and raise the money (i.e., local and federal grants, private donations, etc.) necessary to build a state-of-the-art museum. In addition, I encourage the artists to coordinate with the City of San Antonio and Bexar County to select a prime location for the museum in downtown SA and sell the idea as a new tourist attraction for the city to increase the awareness of Tejano Music and its history and ties to San Antonio.
